HaiYang-1C/D (HY-1C/D) constitute China’s optical satellite constellation for global ocean monitoring (one in the morning and the other in the afternoon) and could increase the frequency of observations.

There are many HY-2B data products that scientists are using to study marine environment, including sea surface wind, wave height, sea surface height and sea surface temperature.

The major mission of CFOSAT (Chinese-French Oceanic Satellite) is to obtain the global sea surface wind, sea wave spectrum, and polar ice characteristics.
