Haiyang-1B(HY-1B)
satellite is the successor of China’s first ocean satellite (HY-1A), it takes the
10-bands Chinese Ocean Color and Temperature Scanner (COCTS) and the 4-bands
CCD imager.
It
was developed based on HY-1A satellite, its observing ability and accuracy was
enhanced and improved. Mainly used for the observing of chlorophyll
concentration, suspended sediment concentration, dissolved organic matter, sea
surface temperature and the monitoring of the dynamic change of costal zone,
providing service for the development of marine economy and the building of
defense.
